Dis-assembly or re-assembly

To re-assemble put the black part, then the white part, screw all the screws in the reverse order and all the metal plates and grilles just the way you took them out. To dis-assemble further look at your deeds first. Your first love lies skeletal, taken apart piece by piece. But there’s more anguish. Take out the small circuit board with Reset and Eject buttons that is attached to a small metal bracket with 4 screws. Unscrew and unplug the small ribbon cable to lift. This requires massive and fast cooling to ensure that the machine doesn’t get burned out. 4 small plastic clips and you can take out the back panel and you will see a monster of a fan. 4 screws hold 2 metal brackets down on the other side. Remove them, and then remove the 2 brackets.

Now very slowly, keep tugging and pulling up the heat sink on the other side. The entire cooling system mechanism along with CPU and GPU will entirely come out. Pull a little hard as the CPU and GPU are pasted with a thermal agent. Don’t remove the paste unless you have more to put on when you reassemble. Again very gently lift the ultra-thin metal shielding on both sides.

Ask for forgiveness for your sin of butchering a loyal PS3 as you look at a completely powerless bunch of plastic and metal pieces. Don’t worry; what we meant was that you are done disassembling the machine. Repair the required part and clean it or all the parts and reassemble your machine.
